Carburettors
overflow
The discovery of a major fuel leak turned out to be
fuel overflowing from one of the float chambers on the SU carburettors.
Upon opening the float chambers, I found two different
size floats!
To top it all, the one was filled with fuel, resulting in the overflow
problem.
The empty float chamber.
While I had it apart I decided to replace the needle and seat as
well.
Adjusting the float height.
The assembled float chamber lid.
Cleaned, assembled, and ready for action!
The engine now starts easier, and idles smoother.
